According to moz, On-page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual web pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. On-page refers to both the content and HTML source code of a page that can be optimized, as opposed to off-page SEO which refers to links and other external signals,

1.        Title tag must include keyword
The title tag is the title element of a web page that summarizes the content found on a page. It will appear in three key places: browsers, search engine results pages, and external sites. The title tag should include most of the keywords so that the user should get idea what the page really describes about and also it helps to increase the rank of the page

2.        Keywords should be present in meta description
A meta description is used to add a brief summary of the page. It describes what the webpage contains. The meta description can have 160 snippets in size. According to moz, Google announced in September of 2009 that neither meta descriptions nor meta keywords factor into Google's ranking algorithms for web search. Meta descriptions can however impact a page's CTR (click-through-rate) on Google which can positively impact a page's ability to rank.

3.        Title should be wrapped in headline tag
The search engine knows what the page is about and it also describes what are the queries are explained in the page with the help of headline tag. The headline tags are used not just for formatting but also to show the hierarchical structure of the webpage. Each page should have a unique page title. Content management systems usually wrap page title in headline. So make sure that it does not happen so.

4.        Keywords must be included in URL
URL stands for uniform resource locator that is nothing but the domain name of the website that we put in URL bar to search a particular website if you know the domain name of that website and you don’t need a search engine to search the website. It is suggested that the keyword should be present in the URL or the domain name of the website as it helps in increasing the ranking of the website by search engines like Google. More the keywords in the URL, more are the chances of lowering the rank of your website.

5.        Include related keywords in your article
It is also considered that the ranking of your webpage is also dependent on the number of keywords that the user has input in the query box. So it is preferred to include maximum keywords that the user might use in the article. The article can also contain synonyms of the keyword by which the search engine may reduce the rank of your webpage.

6.        Include keywords in alt tag of images
The alt tags should also have keywords as it also increases the relevancy to the queries entered by user. When twe move our mouse over an image, a label is seen that describes the image of that page. So it is suggested that even the keywords as it is also more likely to reduce the rank of the webpage.

7.        Make sure to have long content
It is preferred have a long content on your webpage as it may also be one of the reasons to reduce the rank of your website and place it at top of the search result. Google expects longer content as it may look as if more research was done to write the content as it describes so briefly. For a blog,  minimum 100 words and for an article minimum 500 words are required to attain higher ranking.

8.        Use conical tag to avoid duplication of content
Duplicate content issue is never easy to deal with as it is very annoying. The content management system or e-commerce platform might create several URLs that point to the same page or it adds session IDs to URL.
9.        Provide interlinks of other pages
Adding interlinks to the webpage can lead to increase time that the user spends on your website and thus make your website in the top rank of search engine results.
10.        Referencing and linking to other authoritative resources
Google take it positively when your webpage different links and references as Google take it positively that you want the user to learn more about the topic and research more about it .

11.        Improve loading speed of your page
Page loading is an important factor that determines the ranking of the webpage. If the site takes more than 3 seconds to load then it can be affect the rank. So it is mandatory to make sure that the page loads within 3 seconds so as to maintain the higher rankings.

12.        Encourage social media sharing
Brands and entrepreneurs have recognized this massive potential of social media marketing and have made use of it to raise awareness about their brand.  People on social media love to share and the number of Pinterest pins, Facebook shares, Instagram, and Tweets can influence the SEO ranking directly.
